Angels Camp Municipal Code Ch. 1.12 Municipal Elections

Pursuant to Government Code Section 36503 and Elections Code Section 10400, the general municipal election of city elective officials shall, after the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, be consolidated with the statewide general election, and the date of the election of all city elective officials shall be the date of the statewide general election. A. For the purposes of receiving and certifying nomination papers, canvassing the results of all municipal elections, signing and delivering certificates of election, and administering the oath to all elected municipal officers, the city clerk shall act as the city of Angels elections official.

B. The city administrator shall act as the elections official during the period of a city clerk vacancy or interim city clerk appointment. The city administrator may delegate the duties of the elections official to qualified city staff under the city administrator’s direct supervision. (Ord. 499 § 1(part), 2020)
