2.58.010 Filing fee.¶

Each candidate for elective office within the city shall pay a filing fee of twenty-five

dollars within the time period prescribed by the California Elections Code. The filing fee shall be used to cover the cost to the city of processing candidate nomination papers.

2.58.020 Waiver.¶

The filing fee established in Section 2.58.010 of this chapter shall be waived for each

candidate who submits a petition containing four signatures of registered voters for each dollar of the filing fee, or ten percent of the total registered voters in the city, whichever is less. The petition shall be filed within the time limits prescribed by the California Elections Code.
