Chapter 5 — ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

    • Alcoholic beverage defined.

As used in this chapter 5, "alcoholic beverage" means and includes alcohol, spirits, liquor, wine or beer, and every liquid or solid containing alcohol, spirits, wine or beer, and which contains one-half of one (1) percent or more of alcohol by volume, and which is fit for beverage purposes either alone or when diluted, mixed or combined with other substances.

    • Drinking in public prohibited.

No person shall consume any alcoholic beverage or other intoxicating beverage on any public street, sidewalk, alley or highway.

The provisions of section 4501 shall not be deemed to permit or proscribe any act which is expressly permitted or prohibited by any law of the State of California.
