Chapter 12.02 — GENERAL PROVISIONS

This division is adopted to supplement the Subdivision Map Act (Title 7; Division 2, California Government Code) and may be cited as the subdivision ordinance. (Ord. 565 § 3, 2019)

• A. The purposes of this division are:

  1. To regulate and control the division of land in the City and to supplement the provisions of the Subdivision Map Act and survey data of subdivisions;

  2. To regulate and control the form and content of subdivision maps and parcel maps, and the procedures to be followed in securing the approval of the City regarding such maps.

• B. To accomplish this purpose, the regulations outlined in this division are determined to be necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and general welfare.

• C. Any reference herein to the Subdivision Map Act, or a specific section thereof, refers to the Subdivision Map Act, as most currently amended.

No land may be divided or developed for any purpose except in conformity with this division and with the General Plan, any specific plan, and regulatory ordinance of the City. (Ord. 565 § 3, 2019)
