Size or lot coverage	No more than 50% of the length of the required rear yard, measured between side lot lines. Applies: For accessory buildings in part of the required rear yard in R zones. § 11-3-3 · code text Such building may occupy not more than fifty percent (50%) of the length of the required rear yard, measured between side lot lines.
No permit needed up to	Up to 120 square feet without a building permit. Applies: For tree houses and play structures. Over 120 square feet needs a building permit. § 11-3-3 · code text When exceeding one hundred twenty (120) square feet, a building permit is required.
Side and rear setback	At least 5 feet from the side lot line. Applies: For accessory buildings on a reversed corner lot. § 11-3-3 · code text Not be located nearer than five feet (5') to the side parcel line. At least 5 feet from the rear property line, or more if the building code requires. Applies: For swimming pools. § 11-3-3 · code text All swimming pools shall not be closer than five feet (5') to the rear property line or a required distance mandated by building code, whichever is greater.
