9.10.030. - Definition of words.¶
Whenever in this Chapter the following terms are used, they shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them in this Article.

9.10.040. - Vehicle Code definitions.¶
Whenever any words or phrases used in this Chapter are not defined herein, but are now defined in the Vehicle Code, such definitions as now existing are incorporated herein and shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases as used in this Chapter as though set forth herein in full.

9.10.050. - Alley defined.¶
Alley means any highway having a roadway not exceeding 25 feet in width which is primarily used for access to the rear or side entrances of abutting property.

9.10.060. - Article defined.¶
Article means an article of this Chapter, unless the article of some other ordinance or law is indicated.

9.10.070. - Board defined.¶
Board means the Board of Supervisors of the County of Yuba.

9.10.080. - Holidays defined.¶
Within the meaning of this Chapter, holidays are January 1, February 22, May 30, July 4, the first Monday in September, September 9, October 12, November 11, December 25, Thanksgiving day, and any day proclaimed a holiday by the President of the United States or the Governor of California.

9.10.090. - Loading zone defined.¶
Loading zone means the space adjacent to a curb or edge of a roadway reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials.

9.10.100. - Bus loading zone defined.¶
Bus loading zone means that space adjacent to a curb or edge of a roadway reserved for the exclusive use of buses during the loading or unloading of passengers.

9.10.110. - Passenger loading zone defined.¶
Passenger loading zone means the space adjacent to a curb or edge of a roadway reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers.

9.10.120. - Official traffic signal defined.¶
Official traffic signal means any device, whether manually, electrically or mechanically operated, by which traffic is alternately directed to stop and proceed and which is erected by authority of a public body or official having jurisdiction.

9.10.130. - Official traffic control device defined.¶
Official traffic control device means any sign, signal, marking, or device, consistent with Vehicle Code § 21400, placed or erected by authority of a public body or official having jurisdiction, for the purpose of regulating, warning, or guiding traffic, but does not include islands, curbs, traffic barriers, speed humps, speed bumps, or other roadway design features.

Road Commissioner means the Community Development and Services Agency's Director of the Public Works Department as ex officio Road Commissioner of the County of Yuba.

9.10.190. - Stop or stand defined.¶
The term "stop or stand" means any stopping or standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except where necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.

9.10.200. - Time designated.¶
Whenever certain hours are named herein they shall mean standard time or daylight saving time as may be in current use in the unincorporated territory of the County of Yuba.

9.10.210. - Vehicle Code defined.¶
Vehicle Code means the Vehicle Code of the State of California.
