§ 8.16.010. Discharge unlawful.¶
It is unlawful to discharge any type of fireworks within the City of Yorba Linda.

§ 8.16.020. Sale unlawful except when.¶
It is unlawful to sell, give away, purchase, possess or discharge any fireworks within the City, except as set forth below:
A. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, the City Council, in its discretion, may grant permits for public displays of fireworks under the supervision of the County Fire Warden. Applications for the permits shall be filed with the City Manager not less than fifteen days prior to the proposed display by filing a detailed statement of the items to be used in the proposed public display. If the permit is granted, no items shall be displayed except as are contained in the statement and the Council may, in granting the permit, eliminate from the statement such items as it deems hazardous, and it is unlawful for the grantee of the permit to exhibit or display the eliminated items. The display shall be under the supervision of the County Fire Warden and such persons as he or she shall designate and authorize. The fee to the City for the permit for each display shall be in an amount established by resolution of the City Council.
B. The applicant for any public display shall obtain, before filing with the City a license from the State Fire Marshal, as required in Division 11 of the State Health and Safety Code. The surety requirements therein provided are considered to be the minimum, and may be increased by the State Fire Marshal, County Fire Warden or City Council.
