10.48.010 - Crosswalks—Established.

The chief of police shall establish, designate and maintain crosswalks at intersections and other places by appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway as follows: At all intersections within the central traffic district, and at other places within or outside said district where the chief of police determines that there is particular hazard to pedestrians crossing the roadway.

10.48.020 - Crosswalk—Use required in business districts.

No pedestrian shall cross a roadway other than by a crosswalk in any business district.

10.48.030 - Designation of no-crossing zones.

By resolution, the city council may designate no-crossing zones on or within streets, roadways and highways, and the chief of police shall post conspicuously with no-crossing signs the zones so designated.

10.48.040 - Violation of no-crossing restriction.

No pedestrian shall cross a street, roadway or highway within any area designated and posted as a no-crossing area, other than by a crosswalk established pursuant to this chapter. A violation of this section constitutes an infraction and is punishable as provided in Section 1.12.020 of this code.
