§ 8.28.010. Prohibitions.

A. Upon the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, outdoor burning of rubbish within the city limits is prohibited. For purposes of this chapter, the term "rubbish" includes all types of domestic or commercial trash, refuse, and garbage, and includes lawn, tree, and other outdoor vegetation trimmings.

B. Subsection A of this section shall not prohibit the city fire department from conducting controlled burns on agricultural rubbish, for which the fire department may charge reasonable fees to any person whose rubbish is burned, nor shall it prohibit the fire department from any other outdoor burning necessary to eliminate any safety hazard in the city or necessary to the effective training of fire department personnel.
