Visalia Municipal Code Ch. 9.28 Weapons

It is unlawful, for any person to fire or discharge, within the city limits of the city, any pistol, rifle or weapon of any type which may be powered by compressed air or CO2 gas, except in facilities specifically constructed as firing ranges which have been inspected and approved by the city building and police departments, and which have obtained all necessary city planning and building approvals. A. No person shall carry or possess while participating in any demonstration, rally, picket line or public assembly, any length of lumber, wood, or wood lath unless that object is one-quarter inch (1/4”) or less in thickness and two inches (2”) or less in width, or if not generally rectangular in shape, such objects shall not exceed one-half inch (½”) in its thickest dimension.

B. No person shall carry or possess while participating in any demonstration, rally, picket line or public assembly, any metal standards or poles, or objects or poles with sharpened, pointed or jagged surfaces.
