5-1 - Transfer of tax assessment and collection duties to county.¶
Pursuant to the provisions of chapter 2, article I, sections 51500 to and including section 51507 of the Government Code of the state, the town council does elect that the duties of assessing property and the collection of real property and unsecured personal property taxes in the town are transferred to the assessor and tax collector of the county.
The town shall pay to the county such compensation as may be fixed by agreement between the board of supervisors and the town council and the making of such agreement is authorized.

5-2 - Special gas tax street improvement fund—Created.¶
To comply with the provisions of section 196, article 5, chapter 1, division 1 of the Streets and Highways Code of the state, there is created in the town treasury a special fund to be known as the "Special Gas Tax Street Improvement Fund."

5-3 - Same—Accumulation of funds.¶
All money received by the town from the state under the provisions of the Streets and Highways Code of the state for the acquisition of real property or interests therein, or for engineering, or for the construction, maintenance or improvement of streets or highways by the town shall be paid into the special gas tax street improvement fund.

5-4 - Same—Use of funds.¶
All money in the special gas tax street improvement fund shall be expended exclusively for the purposes authorized by, and subject to the provisions of, sections 194—202, article 5, chapter 1, division 1 of the Streets and Highways Code of the state.

5-5 - Traffic safety fund—Created.¶
To comply with the provisions of section 42200 of the Vehicle Code of the state, there is created in the town treasury a special fund to be known as the "Traffic Safety Fund."

5-6 - Same—Accumulation and use of funds.¶
Of the total amount of fines and forfeitures received by the town under section 1463 of the Penal Code of the state, that proportion thereof designated by the state Vehicle Code, section 42200, shall be paid into the traffic safety fund and all money in such fund shall be expended exclusively for the purposes authorized by, and subject to the provisions of, such section 42200.

5-7 - State purpose fund—Created.¶
There is created in the town treasury a special fund to be known as the "State Purpose Fund."

5-8 - Same—Accumulation and use of funds.¶
All money received by the town from the state as a result of apportionment of revenues collected pursuant to the Vehicle License Fee Law of the state shall be paid into the state purpose fund and all money in such fund shall be expended exclusively for the purposes authorized by, and subject to the provisions of, section 11005 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the state, and any other applicable laws.
