6.16.010 - License required.¶
No person shall engage in the business of traveling merchant, hawker, peddler, or itinerant vendor of charts, maps, patent medicines, goods, wares, edibles, or merchandise in the county without first securing a license therefor.

6.16.020 - Exemptions.¶
A. All charitable and nonprofit or religious organizations shall be excluded from this chapter. These organizations shall be defined to include but not necessarily limited to the following: Scouting groups, Kiwanis, Optimist, Veterans of Foreign Wars, etc.
B. The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to, nor include farmers, orchardists, poultrymen or horticulturalists who may sell exclusively their own produce grown and raised by them.

6.16.030 - Fee designated.¶
Every person engaged in the business, trade, occupation or employment of traveling merchant, hawker, peddler, or itinerant vendor of charts, maps, patent medicines, edibles, or any minor article of trade, or vendor of goods, wares or merchandise, and every person, other than persons conducting a regular place of business in the county, selling different articles of apparel, dry goods, meat, electrical appliances, musical instruments, sewing machines, books, printed matter, periodicals, stationery, mechanical devices, or merchandise of any class or character, either by sample or otherwise, to persons not engaged in carrying on such lines of business shall pay a license fee in the amount of fifty dollars per year.

6.16.040 - Fees—Payment.¶
The license fee imposed by the provisions of this chapter shall be paid in advance to the county sheriff's office, and like payment shall be made for each recurring year so long as the business, trade, occupation, or employment subject to a license fee is continued or carried on.

6.16.050 - License issuance.¶
Licenses to engage in the business of traveling merchant, hawker, peddler, or itinerant vendor shall be issued by the county sheriff's office who shall collect the license fee therefor.

6.16.060 - License term.¶
A. All licenses issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be issued for one year and shall commence with the first day of July, and terminate with the close of the thirtieth day of June of the following year.

6.16.070 - Violation.¶
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
