9.08.010 - Drilling wells or installing equipment for petroleum products prohibited.

A. The drilling of any well or shaft for the purpose of exploring for or producing petroleum or gas, or both, and the erection, installation or use of any derrick, machinery, rig, equipment or device intended for such purpose within the city is unlawful.

B. Any person, firm or corporation violating any term or provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and subject to imprisonment for a term not to exceed three months, or to a fine in an amount not to exceed one thousand dollars, or to both such fine and imprisonment.

9.08.020 - Placing signs unlawfully and injuring or destroying signs, signboards or utility poles prohibited.

Any person who tears down, mutilates, removes, defaces or destroys any notice, handbill or sign of any business or performance of any kind, or any ornamental sign or awning posts, or any news or bulletin board, or who uses any such boards for posting any notice, device or other matter without the consent of the owner, or who defaces or mutilates any telephone, telegraph or electric light pole, is guilty of a misdemeanor.

9.08.030 - Permitting water to run on public ways prohibited.

Any person owning or having in his possession or under his control any water pipe or drain, who permits the waters therefrom to run across the sidewalk, public street or alleyway, so as to injure the same or obstruct the free travel thereon, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
