Tehachapi Municipal Code Ch. 15.16 Building Pads

The elevation of a building pad shall be six inches higher than the top of the adjacent curb, as constructed or designed, or the crown of the bordering street if no curb is constructed or designed.

A. This chapter is not intended to prevent an alternate method of construction not specifically prescribed herein, provided any such alternate has been approved.

B. The building official may approve any such alternate, provided he finds that the proposed design is satisfactory and that the alternate method is for the purpose intended in this chapter.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect or construct any building or structure in the city, or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this chapter is committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
