§ 8.04.010. Health Code adopted.

A. Title 11, Health and Safety, Division 1, Health Code of the Los Angeles County Code, as amended and in effect on January 16, 1998, is adopted by reference as the health code of the city of South El Monte.

B. A copy of the health code has been deposited in the office of the city clerk of the city and shall at all times be maintained by the clerk for use and examination by the public.

§ 8.04.020. Definitions.

A. Wherever in Title 11 of the Los Angeles County Code the phrase "County" or "County of Los Angeles" is used, it shall be construed to mean the city of South El Monte.

B. Wherever in Title 11 of the Los Angeles County Code the phrase "Board" or "Board of Supervisors" is used, it shall be construed to mean the council or the city council of South El Monte, whichever shall be appropriate.

§ 8.04.030. Violation—Penalty.

Except as provided in the County Health Code Section 13.54.040 set out in Section 8.04.040, any person violating any of the provisions of the Health Code is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of the health code is committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction is punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not exceeding six months or by both such fine and imprisonment.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 8.04,010, the Health Code is amended by adding Chapter 13.54 to read:

The provisions of Sections 8.04.165, 8.04.225, 8.04.275, 8.04.337, 8.04.405, 8.04.752, 8.04.755, 8.04.930, and 8.04.943 of Title 8 and the provisions of Chapter 11.11 of Title 11 of the Los Angeles County Code, as enacted by and referenced in Los Angeles County Ordinance 97-0071, effective January 16, 1998, fully express the will and intention of the council of the city of South El Monte as to those matters relating to public health which are contained therein, and are adopted and are incorporated herein by reference.
