Sec. 2-1. - Meetings of board of supervisors.

Regular meetings of the board of supervisors shall be held at 8:30 a.m. on each Tuesday, or as soon thereafter as a quorum may be present, except the board shall generally not meet on any fifth Tuesday of a calendar month, or on any Tuesday following a Monday holiday. If a sufficient number of the members of the board of supervisors to constitute a quorum are not present by 12:00 noon on the date and at the place of any such regular meeting, or on the date and at the place of any adjourned or recessed meeting, a less number than a quorum may adjourn or recess such meeting.

Meetings of the board shall be held in the meeting room of the board of supervisors at the Sonoma County Administration Center in the city of Santa Rosa, unless the time, date and location are changed by a majority of the board, and so noticed.

When the board of supervisors is convened in a regular or special session, it may adjourn or recess to a subsequent day or from day to day until its business is finished and may, at the time and place to which such meeting is so adjourned or recessed, transact any business which it could have transacted at the meeting which is so adjourned or recessed.

Sec. 2-2. - Funds to train new members of the board of supervisors.

(a) Upon request of a supervisor-elect, county general fund monies may be used prior to the assumption of office by the supervisor-elect, for the training and orientation of that supervisor-elect including the payment of course fees, travel and per diem expenses, course materials, and consultant fees.

(b) Such training and orientation programs, and expenses therefore, shall be those the board of supervisors deems proper and beneficial to the exercise of supervisorial duties by newly elected supervisors.

(c) In order to receive training and orientation funds, the supervisor-elect shall:

(1) Make a formal request of the board of supervisors;

(2) Upon approval of funds, submit a Sonoma County claim form for receipt of funds in the same manner as required by incumbent supervisors.

Sec. 2-2.1. - Official hours of county offices.

(a) County offices shall be open to the public for the transaction of business between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, except that such offices shall be closed on holidays as designated by the board of supervisors in any resolution or memorandum of understanding or as required by law; and except that such regular days and hours of operation may be temporarily or permanently revised as permitted by subsection (b) below.

(b) The board of supervisors reserves the right to change the regular days and hours of county operation by resolution, in accordance with other applicable provisions of law, as deemed advisable by the board.
