Sec. 7-1.01. - Map format.

(a) Maps filed with the County Recorder shall be legibly drawn, printed, or reproduced by a process guaranteeing a permanent record in black on tracing cloth or polyester base film, eighteen (18″) inches by twenty-six (26″) inches. If ink is used on polyester base film, the ink surface shall be coated with a suitable substance to assure permanent legibility. A one-inch blank margin shall be left on each edge of the map.

(b) The title, scale, north arrow, and sheet number shall be shown on each sheet.

(c) The scale of the map shall be large enough to show all details clearly, and enough sheets shall be used to accomplish this end.

Sec. 7-1.02. - Boundaries.

The exterior boundaries of the land shall be delineated on the map by distinctive symbols and clearly so designated. The map shall show clearly the survey points, monuments, or other evidence which was found on the ground to determine the boundaries and show the measurements thereto.

Sec. 7-1.03. - Adjoining properties.

All adjoining properties shall be identified on the map by reference to the adjacent recorded subdivision map or by reference to the book and page number of the adjacent recorded deed.

Sec. 7-1.04. - Reference documents.

The map shall indicate or list all reference documents, maps, and deeds which were used to determine the boundaries.

Sec. 7-1.05. - Closure sheets.

All maps submitted to the County Surveyor to be checked shall be accompanied by closure/calculation sheets for the exterior boundaries and all enclosed areas and parcels, roads, subdivisions of section lines, and survey lines shown on the maps.

Sec. 7-1.06. - Duplicate maps.

Maps filed with the County Recorder shall be filed in duplicate. One map shall be designated as the original, the other map shall be designated as a copy, and both maps shall contain all signatures and seals.

Sec. 7-1.07. - Map filing.

(a) Original maps shall be kept in the office of the County Recorder in suitable books or cabinets provided for such purpose, and proper indexes shall be maintained.

(b) Duplicate maps shall be kept in the office of the County Surveyor in suitable books or cabinets provided for such purpose, and the maps shall be open to public inspection. The County Surveyor shall maintain proper indexes of the maps.

Sec. 7-1.08. - Fees for review and approval.

The County Surveyor shall charge a fee of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars for each map examined pursuant to this chapter.
