2.12.020 - Duties of mayor and mayor pro tempore.¶
A. The mayor shall preside at the meetings of the council. If he/she is absent or unable to act, the council shall appoint a mayor pro tempore, who shall serve only until the mayor returns or is able to act. The mayor pro tempore shall have all of the powers and duties of the mayor in his/her absence.
B. The mayor shall represent the city for ceremonial purposes and represent the city in intergovernmental relations, personally or by a representative designated by him/her with the concurrence of the council.
C. The mayor shall possess such authority and perform such duties as are granted or required by the council. These additional duties shall not conflict with any other provision of the Charter, or with the authority of the city manager.

2.12.030 - Conduct as councilman.¶
The mayor may make or second any motion and present and discuss any matter as a member of the council.

2.12.050 - Oaths, affirmations and affidavits—Administration and certification.¶
The mayor may administer oaths and affirmations, take affidavits and certify them under his hand.

2.12.060 - Execution of instruments—Acknowledgment.¶
The mayor may acknowledge the execution of all instruments executed by the city and required to be acknowledged.
