Santa Maria Municipal Code Ch. 2-1 City Council Meetings

Regular meetings of the City Council shall be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at five-thirty (5:30) p.m., or if such regular meeting day shall be a legal holiday, then such meeting shall be held on the next day at five-thirty (5:30) p.m. at the Council Chambers of the City Hall, unless otherwise specified.

Adjourned meetings may be held between regular meetings on any day at any time as may be ordered in the motion for adjournment and an adjourned meeting shall be considered a continuation of the meeting from which it was adjourned.

Adjourned meetings shall be held within the City limits at such place as may be designated in the motion for adjournment.

Special meetings may be held on any day at any time providing the provisions of the Government Code of the State respecting special meetings are complied with.

In the event through accident, disaster, or other reason the City Council Chambers are not available or are not fit for the holding of a meeting therein, the Mayor may designate a place at which any meeting required to be held in the City Council Chambers may be held.

No defect in the place or time of holding any meeting shall invalidate any proceedings had at the meeting.
