6.16.010 - Burial of dead animals.

Whenever any animal save such as shall be killed for human food, shall be killed or die within the limits of the city of San Rafael, the owner of such animal, or the person or persons in whose possession, or custody, or under whose control such animal was, at the time of its death, shall remove and dispose of the carcass of such animal and causes the same to be buried in such manner as not to become a nuisance, within twelve (12) hours next after such death shall occur.

Whenever the carcass of any dead animal save such as shall be killed for human food, shall be found or be upon the premises owned or occupied by any person or persons, either in whole or in part, such person or persons, so owning or occupying said premises, either in whole or in part, where such carcass shall be found or be, shall within twelve (12) hours after notification from the health officer of the city of San Rafael so to do, cause such carcass to be removed from said premises and be buried in such a manner as not to become or create a nuisance.
