10.56.010 - Commercial vehicles exceeding 6,000 pounds (3 tons) gross weight prohibited…

When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall operate any commercial vehicle exceeding the 6,000 pounds (3 tons) gross weight at any time upon any of the streets or parts of streets listed below, except that such vehicle may be operated thereon for the purpose of delivering or picking up materials or merchandise or the performance of services in connection with and in aid of a property in the block, and then only by entering such street at the intersection nearest the destination of the vehicle and proceeding thereon no farther than the nearest intersection thereafter, and except as provided in Section 10.56.030:

When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall operate any commercial vehicle exceeding 10,000 pounds (five tons) gross weight at any time upon any of the streets or parts of streets listed below, except that such vehicle may be operated thereon for the purpose of delivering or picking up materials or merchandise or the performance of services in connection with and in aid of a property in the block, and then only by entering such street at the intersection nearest the destination of the vehicle and proceeding thereon no farther than the nearest intersection thereafter, and except as provided in Section 10.56.030:

10.56.030 - Weight limit and axle limit signs required.

Whenever the use of a street or portion thereof, or bridge, is prohibited for any vehicle with a gross weight in excess of the amount specified in either Sections 10.56.010, 10.56.020, or 10.56.060, or an axle limit as specified in Section 10.56.050, the City Traffic Engineer shall erect appropriate signs giving notice thereof.

10.56.040 - Exceptions to weight limits and axle limits on certain streets.

The provisions of Section 10.56.010, Section 10.56.020, and Section 10.56.050 shall not apply to:

A. Any passenger bus or other passenger stage under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission on franchised by the City;

B. Any vehicle owned by the City or by a public utility or a licensed contractor while necessarily in use in the construction, installation or repair of any City facility or any public utility; or

C. Any refuse vehicle either owned, franchised or under contract with the City for the collection of solid waste.

Any vehicle used in the construction, maintenance, or repair of a public works project.

10.56.050 - Commercial vehicles exceeding three (3) axles prohibited from using certain streets.

When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall operate any commercial vehicle exceeding three axles at any time upon any of the streets or parts of streets listed below, except that such vehicle may be operated thereon for the purpose of delivering or picking up materials or merchandise or the performance of services in connection with and in aid of a property in the block, and then only by entering such street at the intersection nearest the destination of the vehicle and proceeding thereon no farther than the nearest intersection thereafter:

10.56.060 - Commercial vehicles exceeding weight limits prohibited from using certain bridges.

When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall operate any commercial vehicle exceeding the following gross weight limits: 30,000 pounds (15 tons) per truck; 40,000 pounds (20 tons) per semi-trailer combination; and 48,000 pounds (24 tons) per truck and full trailer, at any time upon any of the bridges or parts of bridges listed below, except if vehicle is used in the construction, maintenance, or repair of a public works project:
