§ 5.28.010. Ambulance operator— Exceptions.¶
The words "ambulance operator" do not include a person who maintains ambulances for the use of his or her own employees in connection with the operation by such person of a plant, hospital or first-aid station for such employees.

§ 5.28.020. Ambulance operator— Insurance requirements.¶
A. An ambulance operator shall keep in full force and effect at all times and file a certificate of that fact with the director of finance, a policy of liability insurance not less than the sum of fifty thousand dollars for injury to any one person or the death of any one person in any one accident, and the sum of one hundred thousand dollars for the injury of two or more persons, or death of two or more persons, or the injury to one person or more in any one accident, and in the sum of twenty thousand dollars for injury or destruction of property in any one accident.
B. The insurance policy required before an ambulance permit is issued shall provide that the same shall not be canceled unless a five-day written notice thereof shall be first given to the director of finance.

§ 5.28.030. Ambulance operator— Rates.¶
An ambulance operator shall charge those rates specified in the permit for services rendered.

§ 5.28.040. Ambulance operator— Rebates prohibited.¶
An ambulance operator shall not give, directly or indirectly, or cause to be given, any rebates, commissions, reserve rebates, or any reduced rates or cash discounts to any person or persons or groups of any nature.

§ 5.28.050. Ambulance driver permit requirements.¶
A. Permit Issuance Conditions. The director of finance shall not issue a permit to any ambulance driver until the ambulance driver shall, within thirty days after applying for an ambulance driver's permit, register with the American Red Cross and obtain and keep in his or her possession a standard Red Cross Aid Card.
B. Annual Permit Renewal—Fee. Notwithstanding any other provision of this title to the contrary, ambulance driver permits shall be renewed annually on or before the anniversary date of the issuance of the permit. The permit may be renewed by the director of finance, provided he or she has received a favorable report therefor from a law enforcement agency. Notwithstanding any other provision of this title to the contrary, application fees for permits and for the annual renewal thereof pertaining to ambulance drivers shall be five dollars each.
