9.40.010 Aircraft defined.

The term "aircraft" as used in this chapter means any airplane, helicopter, or any other contrivance now known or hereafter invented, used or designed for navigation or flight in the air, except a parachute or other contrivance used primarily as safety equipment.

9.40.020 Landing at other than established airports restricted.

Except in case of emergency or for rescue missions, no person shall land any aircraft within the city except upon an airport, aircraft landing field, heliport or helistop, approved by the city council, except as set forth in Section 9.40.030.

9.40.030 Special permit for infrequent helicopter landings.

Applications for a permit for infrequent helicopter landings shall be made in writing to the city manager and shall be accompanied by a map indicating the area concerned. The city manager may grant such application subject to such conditions as he deems necessary to protect the public and surrounding property. He may deny such an application when in his opinion the granting thereof will adversely affect the use or enjoyment of adjacent property in any way.
