MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE RENT INCREASE

|

A landlord can raise the rent for a Covered Unit only once in a 12-month period, and the increase is the lower of:

3%, or

The inflation rate based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Los Angeles area, measured over the previous 12 months ending in March each year.

Statewide Rent-Increase Caps Under CA Tenant Protections Act

Cudahy residents who are not covered are subject to the State's maximum allowable annual rent increase of 8.7% (5%+3.7% (CPI/Inflation)) for the period of August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.
