§ 6.10.002. Purpose.

A geologic hazard abatement district may be formed in the City for the purpose of prevention, mitigation, abatement or control of a geologic hazard. A district may be formed under the authority of Division 17 of the Public Resources Code (Section 26500 and following) and this chapter.

§ 6.10.004. Declaration.

The City Council declares that:

a. The City is subject to the provisions of Division 17 of the Public Resources Code and the City will forward a copy of this chapter to the State Controller before the effective date of the chapter, as required by Public Resources Code Section 26500; and

b. Chapter 2.5 of Division 17 of the Public Resources Code, permitting emergency formation of a geologic hazard abatement district is applicable in the City.
