§ 4-10.01 ORGANIZATIONS AUTHORIZED.

Organizations exempted from the payment of the State Bank and Corporation Tax by the provisions of Cal. Rev & Tax. Code § 23701, subsections (a), (b), (e), (f), (g), and (l), mobile home park associations, and senior citizens organizations are authorized to conduct bingo games in the city upon obtaining a license therefor as set forth in this chapter provided the proceeds of such games are used only for charitable purposes.

§ 4-10.02 LICENSES.

Upon making an application to the Director of Finance and paying a fee of $50, and upon a determination of the Director of Finance that the applicant is an organization or association as defined in § 4-10.01 of this chapter, the Director of Finance shall issue a license to such organization or association authorizing the conduct of bingo games. Such license shall be for a period of one year and shall be renewable annually upon the payment of a $50 renewal fee. If an application for a license or the renewal thereof is denied, one-half of any such fee paid shall be refunded to the organization or association applying therefor. § 4-10.03 GENERAL PROVISIONS.

All bingo games shall be open to the public, shall be conducted only on property owned or leased by the licensees authorized to conduct the games, and shall be operated and staffed only by employees of the authorized organizations which organized the games. The total value of prizes awarded during the conduct of any bingo game shall not exceed $250 in cash or kind, or both, for each separate game which is held. In addition to the regulations set forth in this chapter, the conduct of all bingo games in the city shall be governed by the terms and provisions of Cal. Penal Code § 326.5 as it presently exists or as it may hereafter be amended.
