9.49.010 - Prohibition against loitering on county library property.

No person shall loiter or remain within library facilities or upon library property or grounds after having been requested to leave by the county employee in charge of such facility or property or grounds, or by any peace officer acting at the request of such county employee.

9.49.020 - Prohibition against possessing or consuming alcohol on county library property.

It is unlawful for any person to possess or consume alcohol on the grounds or property of any Madera County Library unless as part of a group having obtained a permit as specified in Chapter 5.16 of this code, with such permit expressly permitting possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages.

9.49.030 - Posted notice.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 9.49.010 and 9.49.020, this chapter shall not apply unless there is posted and maintained, at the location, conspicuous signs with lettering not less than one inch in height, proscribing such loitering, or possession or consumption of alcohol. The signs shall read as follows:

TRESPASSING AND LOITERING PROHIBITED

It is unlawful for any person to loiter or remain on the grounds of the County Library after having been requested to leave by County Staff or by any peace officer acting at the direction of County Staff.

Violation of this Ordinance is a Misdemeanor.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PROHIBITED

It is unlawful for any person to possess or consume alcoholic beverages on the facilities or the grounds of the County Library unless a permit is obtained as specified in Chapter 5.16 of this Code.

Violation of this Ordinance is a Misdemeanor.
