§ 15.12.010. Council findings.¶
The City Council finds that it is in the best interest of public health and welfare that the minimum floor spaces as set forth in this chapter be maintained within the City.

§ 15.12.020. Dwelling unit defined.¶
"Dwelling unit,"
as used in this chapter, means one or more rooms in a dwelling, or multiple dwellings or apartment hotels used for occupancy by one family (including necessary servants and employees of such family) for living and sleeping purposes and having only one kitchen.

§ 15.12.030. Minimum floor space for dwellings.¶
Every dwelling unit hereafter constructed, erected or moved in the City shall have a minimum floor area, including space occupied by exterior and interior walls and excluding space occupied by garages and porches as follows:
A. Single-family dwelling units, 850 square feet per dwelling unit for dwellings with two or less bedrooms plus 150 square feet per dwelling for each additional bedroom;
B. Multiple dwelling units, as follows:
Duplex, 600 square feet per dwelling unit with two or less bedrooms plus 100 square feet per dwelling unit for each additional bedroom,
Apartments (three or more), 500 square feet per unit,
Efficiency apartments, 350 square feet per unit.

§ 15.12.040. Minimum floor space for motels and tourist courts.¶
For every dwelling unit not provided for in Section 15.12.030 and designated to accommodate six or more separate and individual families, if, in lieu of separate or individual cooking facilities, a community kitchen is provided, then such kitchen shall be provided for each six units and each of such units shall have a minimum of 200 square feet of floor space, and such kitchen shall have a minimum floor area of 150 square feet, exclusive of all built-in cupboards or other obstruction, stove or refrigerator not included. If no cooking facilities are provided, then each such unit shall have a minimum living floor area of 150 square feet.
