SEC. 8-3-101. - TITLE.

This division may be cited as the City of Fresno Judgment Obligation bond Law.

SEC. 8-3-102. - PURPOSE.

The Council hereby finds and declares that it is necessary, essential, a public purpose and a municipal affair for the city to be authorized to pay and discharge money judgments and other legal monetary obligations of the city in the interests of the public health, safety and welfare.

SEC. 8-3-103. - DEFINITIONS.

Unless the context otherwise requires, the following definitions shall govern the construction of this division:

(a) "Bonds" means any bonds, notes, interim certificates, debentures or other obligations issued by the city pursuant to this division, which are payable from any available funds of the city.

(b) "Council" means the Council of the City.

(c) "Judgment" means the decree of a court of law or equity, or a court approved settlement, for a sum of money or the payment of a sum of money, creating a legal and enforceable obligation of the city.
