5.01.010 - Generally.

Claims against the county or county officers or employees which are excepted by Section 905 from Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 900) and Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 910) of the Government Code, and which are not governed by any other statutes or regulations expressly relating thereto (hereinafter "claims") shall be governed by Government Code Section 935.

5.01.020 - Presentation of claims.

Claims shall be presented to the county and be acted upon by the board of supervisors, or have been deemed to have been rejected by the board, as a prerequisite to suit thereon.

5.01.030 - Claim procedures.

This chapter does not require a shorter time for the presentation of any claim than the time provided in Government Code Section 911.2. This chapter does not provide a longer time for the taking of action upon any claim than the time provided in Government Code Section 912.4.

5.01.040 - Claim required when.

When a claim required to be presented within six months or one year as provided in Government Code Section 911.2 is not presented within the required time, an application may be made to the county for leave to present such claim. The provisions of Government Code Section 935, subsection (e) apply to such applications.

This chapter shall apply retroactively to previously accrued claims.
