10.44.010 - By minors.¶
It is unlawful for any person under the age of fourteen years, unless accompanied by an adult person, to carry on his person or have in his possession any pistol, rifle, gun or other firearm, unless such minor is regularly enlisted in some military organization of this state or the United States or is taking a course in military instruction.

10.44.020 - Discharge of weapons prohibited.¶
Except as hereinafter provided, it is unlawful for any person to discharge into or within any of the areas hereinafter in this chapter described, any firearms, any arrow from a bow having a pull of thirty pounds or more, or any pellet gun projecting a metallic object by means of air, gas or a spring. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any public officer in the lawful discharge of his duties, to any person necessarily acting in the lawful defense of person or property, or to the premises of any shooting gallery, practice range, skeet field, archery range or other similar place conducted at a fixed location, and with respect to which adequate safeguards have been provided to protect persons and property from injury.

10.44.030 - Prohibited area described—Fresno-Clovis Metropolitan area.¶
The prohibitions of Section 10.44.020 shall apply to all of the unincorporated territory of the County contained within the area bounded by a line described as:
Beginning at a point on the center line of the San Joaquin River which is the boundary between Fresno County and Madera County where a line ½ mile north of and parallel with the Copper Avenue alignment intersects the San Joaquin River; then southwesterly along the center line of the San Joaquin River to the Herndon Avenue alignment at its intersection with the Fresno County and Madera County boundary; then easterly along the Herndon Avenue alignment to the Chateau Fresno Avenue alignment; then southerly along the Chateau Fresno Avenue alignment to Chateau Fresno Avenue; and continuing southerly along Chateau Fresno Avenue to Shaw Avenue; then easterly along Shaw Avenue to Garfield Avenue; then southerly along Garfield Avenue to Shields Avenue; then easterly along Shields Avenue to Grantland Avenue; then southerly along Grantland Avenue to Belmont Avenue; then easterly along Belmont Avenue to Blythe Avenue; then southerly along Blythe Avenue to the McKenzie Avenue alignment and the right-of-way of the main West Side Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad; then easterly along said right-of-way and alignment to Brawley Avenue; then southerly along Brawley Avenue to California Avenue; then easterly along California Avenue to Valentine Avenue; then southerly along Valentine Avenue to Jensen Avenue; then easterly along Jensen Avenue to Marks Avenue; then southerly along Marks Avenue to North Avenue; then easterly along North Avenue to a point ¼ mile east of Marks Avenue; then south to a point ¼ mile south of North Avenue; then easterly along a line parallel with North Avenue to Fruit Avenue; then southerly along Fruit Avenue to the Muscat Avenue alignment; then easterly along the Muscat Avenue alignment to Cherry Avenue; then southerly along Cherry Avenue to a point ¼ mile north of Malaga Avenue; then easterly along a line parallel to Malaga Avenue to a point ¼ mile east of Orange Avenue; then southerly along a line parallel with Orange Avenue to a point ¼ mile north of American Avenue; then easterly along a line parallel with American Avenue to Willow Avenue; then northerly along Willow Avenue to North Avenue; then easterly along North Avenue to a point ¼ mile east of Peach Avenue; then northerly along a line parallel with Peach Avenue to the Annadale Avenue alignment and the Porterville Branch of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF); then easterly along said right-of-way and alignment to Clovis Avenue; then northerly along Clovis Avenue to a point along the Vine Avenue alignment; then easterly along the Vine Avenue alignment to a point ¼ mile east of Fowler Avenue; then northerly along a line parallel with Fowler Avenue to a point ¼ mile north of Church Avenue; then easterly along a line parallel with Church Avenue to Armstrong Avenue; then southerly along Armstrong Avenue to Church Avenue; then easterly along Church Avenue to Temperance Avenue; then northerly to a point ¼ mile north of Church Avenue; then easterly along a line parallel with Church Avenue to Locan Avenue; then northerly along Locan Avenue and the Locan Avenue alignment to a point ¼ mile north of Clinton Avenue; then easterly to a point ¼ mile east of Locan Avenue; then northerly along a line parallel to Locan Avenue to Shields Avenue; then easterly along Shields Avenue to the Highland Avenue alignment; then northerly along Highland Avenue alignment and Highland Avenue across the Herndon Avenue offset to Nees Avenue; then easterly along Nees Avenue to Thompson Avenue; then northerly along Thompson Avenue to Tollhouse Road and the Shepherd Avenue Alignment; then westerly along Shepherd Avenue to the western boundary of the Big Dry Creek Flood Control Basin; and then northwesterly along the Big Dry Creek Flood Control Basin Levy to a point ¼ mile north of Shepherd Avenue; then westerly following an alignment ¼ mile north of Shepherd Avenue to a point ¼ mile east of Fowler Avenue; then northerly along a line parallel to Fowler Avenue to Perrin Avenue; then westerly along Perrin Avenue and the Perrin Avenue Alignment to Peach Avenue; then northerly along the Peach Avenue to Copper Avenue; then westerly along the Copper Avenue to Willow Avenue; then northerly along Willow Avenue to the intersection of Friant Road and Willow Avenue; then southwesterly along Friant Road to a point ½ mile south of the intersection of Friant Road and Willow Avenue, then northwesterly in an arc, the radius point of which is located at the intersection of Friant Road and the Fresno City limit to create a ¼ mile buffer from the Fresno City limit; a ¼ mile from Friant Road to a point ½ mile north of Copper Avenue, then westerly along a line parallel with Copper Avenue to the center line of the San Joaquin River which is the boundary between Madera County and Fresno County, and the point of beginning.

10.44.040 - Prohibited area described—Adjacent to cities.¶
The prohibitions of Section 10.44.020 shall apply to all of the unincorporated territory of the county which now does, or which may hereafter lie within one-quarter mile of the exterior boundary of any incorporated city of the county.

10.44.050 - Prohibited areas described—Huntington Lake-Big Creek.¶
The prohibitions of Section 10.44.020 shall apply to all that certain area adjacent to Huntington Lake-Big Creek and more particularly described as that certain territory of the county contained within an area bounded by a line described as follows:
Commencing at a point where Ward Tunnel Trail leaves Florence Lake Road above Huntington Lake; thence in a northerly direction along Ward Tunnel Trail to its junction with Potter Pass Trail; thence in a northwesterly direction in a direct line to College Rock; thence in a southwesterly direction in a direct line to the junction of Line Creek Trail and Billy Creek Trail; thence in a southwesterly direction in a direct line to Black Point; thence in a southeasterly direction in a direct line with Sunset Point to a point where Huntington Lake Road crosses Sheep Thief Creek; thence following, Sheep Thief Creek in a southwesterly direction to its confluence with Big Creek; thence following Big Creek in a westerly direction to the first stream intersection; thence in a southerly direction up said unnamed stream to the junction thereof with Southern California Edison Company Powerhouse No. 2 Road; thence in a general easterly direction along said road to the junction thereof with Huntington Lake Road; thence in a general northeasterly direction along Huntington Lake Road to its junction with Big Creek; thence in a northeasterly direction up Big Creek to Huntington Lake; thence in a northeasterly direction along the south side of Huntington Lake to the centerline of Coon Creek; thence in a southeasterly direction along Coon Creek to the southerly right-of-way line of State Highway 168; thence in a northeasterly direction along said right-of-way line 630 feet to a point; thence S 7° 57′30″ E, 802 feet; thence S 26° 07′42″ E, 4,869 feet; thence S 68° 20′18″ E, 7,231 feet; thence N 16°37′44″ E, 2, 498 feet; thence N 67° 04′19″ E, 2,002 feet; thence N 20° 20′46″ W, 863 feet; thence N 48° 05′44″ W, 2,161 feet; thence S 74° 33′20″ W, 1,115 feet; thence N 34° 29′30″ W, 2,439 feet; thence N 11° 36′41″ E, 522 feet; thence N 3° 14′23″ E, 372 feet; thence N 21° 47′02″ W, 606 feet; thence N 35° 12′44″ W, 512 feet; thence N 48° 42′ 19″ W, 744 feet; thence N 57° 00′46″ W, 588 feet; thence N 66° 30′24″ W, 868 feet; thence S 83° 00′39″ W, 1,307 feet; thence S 49° 11′52″ W, 927 feet to a point on the easterly right-of-way line of State Highway 168; thence southerly along said right-of-way line to its intersection with Big Creek; thence northwesterly along Big Creek to the east side of Huntington Lake; thence northerly along the east side of Huntington Lake to Florence Lake Road; thence in a northeasterly direction along Florence Lake Road to the point of beginning.

10.44.060 - Prohibited area described—Dinkey Creek.¶
The prohibitions of Section 10.44.020 shall apply to all of that certain area adjacent to the Dinkey Creek Resort area and more particularly described as that certain territory of the county contained within an area bounded by a line described as:
Beginning at the junction of the Lower Dinkey Road with the Dinkey-Shaver Lake County Road; thence running northwesterly to the intersection with the section line between Sections 17 and 18, T. 10 S., R. 26 E., M.D.B. & M.; thence north to the one-quarter corner between Sections 7 and 8, T. 10 S., R. 26 E., M.D.B. & M.; thence east to the Dinkey-Huntington Lake Trail; thence northerly to the west fork of Rock Creek; thence east along the township line between T. 9 S., R. 26 E., and T. 10 S., R. 24 E., M.D.B. & M., to Dinkey Creek; thence southerly along Dinkey Creek to its junction with Arkansas Creek; thence easterly on Arkansas Creek to a point of interception with the section line between Sections 4 and 5, T. 10 S., R. 26 E., M. D. B. & M.; thence south on the section line between Sections 4 and 5, 9 and 10; and 16 and 17 to the junction with the McKinley Grove Road; thence southerly along the McKinley Grove Road to its junction with the Lobo Mine Road; thence southerly along the Lobo Mine Road to Dinkey Creek; thence northerly along Dinkey Creek to the Lower Dinkey Road; thence Northwesterly along the Lower Dinkey Road to the point of beginning.

10.44.070 - Prohibited area described—Mono Hot Springs.¶
The prohibitions of Section 10.44.020 shall apply to all of that certain area adjacent to the Mono Hot Springs and more particularly described as that certain territory of the County contained within an area bounded by a line described as:
Commencing at the point where the Mono Hot Springs Road crosses the Mono-Bear siphon on a small bridge; thence running northeasterly on the road across the San Joaquin River and up the road to Vermillion Valley to the point where the trail to Dorris Lake intercepts; thence along this trail in a northwesterly direction past Dorris Lake to the Graveyard Cassidy; Vermillion Valley trail coming of the High Sierra Pack Station; thence across this trail to the crest of the adjacent hill to the west; thence southwesterly along this crest for a distance of approximately one-quarter mile to the southwest corner of the forest service pasture on the south side of the San Joaquin River; thence easterly along the upper boundary of the pasture to the point of beginning.

10.44.080 - Prohibited area described—Shaver Lake.¶
The prohibitions of Section 10.44.020 shall apply to all that certain area adjacent to Shaver Lake and more particularly described as that certain territory of the county contained within an area bounded by a line described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the high water line of the west shore of Shaver Lake at its intersection with the north section line of Section 36, T. 9 S., R. 24 E., M. D. B. & M.; then west along said section line to a point 1,320 feet east of the section corner common to Section 36, 25, 35 and 36 T. 9 S., R. 24 E., M. D. B. & M.; then south to the southeast corner of the NW ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 1, T. 10 S., R. 24 E., M. D. B. & M.; then east to the NW corner of the SE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 1, T. 10 S., R. 24 E., M. D. B. & M.; then south to the SE corner of the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 12, T. 10 S., R. 24 E., M. D. B. & M.; then westerly to State Highway 168; then northerly on Highway 168 to its intersection with the south line of the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 2, T. 10 S., R. 24 E.; then westerly to the west section line of Section 2, T. 10 S., R. 24 E., M. D. B. &, M.; then north to the section corner common to Sections 34 and 35, T. 9 S., R 25 E., M. D. B. &. M. and Sections 2 and 3, T. 10 S., R. 24 E., M. D. B. & M. and as shown on the 1953 Shaver Lake, U.S.G.S. Quadrangle map; then northerly along the main summit of Mount Stevenson to elevation 6,194 in the NE ¼, Section 23, T. 9 S., R. 24 E., M. D. B. &, M.; then northeasterly down the ridge to the Stevenson Creek Crossing of State Highway No. I68; then easterly along Stevenson Creek to the Shaver Lake Dam; then along the high water line of Shaver Lake to the point of beginning.

10.44.090 - Prohibited area described—Big Dry Creek Flood Control Basin.¶
The prohibitions of Section 10.44.020 shall apply to all of that certain area in and adjacent to the Big Dry Creek Flood Control Basin and more particularly described as that certain territory of the county contained within an area bounded by a line described as:
Beginning at the intersection of Shepherd and Thompson Avenues; thence westerly along Shepherd Avenue to its intersection with DeWolf Avenue extended; thence southerly along DeWolf Avenue extended to a point 1320′ ± northerly of Nees Avenue extended; thence westerly along property lines 830′ ± to a point; thence southerly along a property line to its intersection with Nees Avenue extended; thence easterly along Nees Avenue extended to its intersection with Tollhouse Road; thence southwesterly along Tollhouse Road to the intersection thereof with Locan Avenue; thence northerly along Locan Avenue to a point one-quarter mile north of Nees Avenue; thence westerly along Nees Avenue to Temperance Avenue; thence northerly along Temperance Avenue to the intersection thereof with Shepherd Avenue; thence easterly along Shepherd Avenue to its intersection thereof with DeWolf Temperance Avenue; thence northerly along Locan Avenue to the southerly toe of the Big Dry Creek Dam; thence northwesterly along the toe of the Big Dry Creek Dam; lying westerly of the said Dam, to the westerly side of the Little Dry Creek Outlet Channel; thence northeasterly along the westerly side of said Outlet Channel to the intersection thereof with Copper Avenue; thence easterly along Copper Avenue and its extended alignment to the Leonard Avenue Alignment; thence southerly along the fence line on the Leonard Avenue Alignment to a point ½ mile north of Shepherd Avenue; thence easterly parallel to Shepherd Avenue to a point on the Thompson Avenue Alignment; thence southerly along the Thompson Avenue Alignment to Shepherd Avenue, the point of beginning.

10.44.100 - Prohibited areas described—Locan/Shaw.¶
The prohibitions of Section 10.44.020 shall apply to all of the unincorporated territory of the county contained within the area bounded by a line described as:
Beginning at a point 630 feet east of the intersection of McCall Avenue and Herndon Avenue; then easterly along Herndon Avenue to Del Rey Avenue; then southerly along Del Rey Avenue to Sierra Avenue; then easterly along Sierra Avenue to Amber Avenue; then southerly along Amber Avenue to Shaw Avenue; then westerly along Shaw Avenue to the Enterprise Canal; then northwesterly and westerly along the Enterprise Canal to the southwest corner of Parcel 4 of Parcel Map No. 1980 as recorded on Page 91, Book 12 of Fresno County Official records; then northerly along the west line of said parcel to the northwest corner of said parcel, a distance of 259.29 feet; then westerly, a distance of 165 feet along the south line of Parcel Map 2098 as recorded on Page 55, Book 13 of Fresno County Official Records, to the southwest corner of said parcel; then north, a distance of 234.25 feet along the west line of said parcel; then west, generally parallel to Bullard Avenue, along the south line of parcels fronting on Bullard Avenue, to a point on La Vona Avenue 544.5 feet south of Bullard Avenue; then northerly along La Vona Avenue to Bullard Avenue; then easterly along Bullard Avenue to Highland Avenue; then northerly on Highland Avenue to Sierra Avenue; then easterly on Sierra Avenue and Sierra Avenue Alignment to a point 630 feet east of McCall Avenue; then northerly along a line parallel to McCall Avenue to Herndon Avenue, to the point of beginning.
