Fountain Valley Municipal Code Ch. 6.04 Garbage Regulations

It is unlawful for any person, firm, copartnership or corporation to dump, place or deposit any trash, refuse, vegetable trimmings or rubbish of any kind whatsoever upon any private or public property in the city other than trimmings from vegetables grown on said property, except as hereinafter provided.

Nothing herein contained shall be construed as to prohibit the spreading of vegetable trimmings upon private property in the city provided the same shall be spread on such property in a continuous layer and plowed or disced under the surface of the ground not later than six days from and after the date of spreading the same, and, providing further that no such vegetable trimmings shall be spread upon property that vegetable trimmings have been spread upon within a period of the preceding three months.

Any person, firm, copartnership or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by fine of not more than five hundred dollars or imprisoned in the County Jail for a term not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

Each separate act of dumping, placing or depositing such trash, refuse, vegetable trimmings or rubbish contrary to the provisions of this chapter shall constitute and be considered a separate offense and violation hereof.
