§ 4.75.010. Signs required—Prices—Hours of sales.

Every person offering for sale or selling gasoline to the public from any place of business adjacent to a street or highway shall display in a manner so that it is clearly visible from any street or highway adjacent to the premises at least one, but not more than two signs which indicate:

(1) The actual price per gallon, including taxes, of each grade of gasoline being sold or offered for sale from the premises;

(2) Whether any grade of gasoline normally offered for sale from the premises is currently not being offered for sale;

(3) The hours during which gasoline will be offered for sale from the premises during the current day; and

(4) In the event a service station has no gasoline available for sale, but other services are available, a sign may be posted indicating that other services are available.

§ 4.75.020. Sign size.

Any sign required or permitted by this chapter shall not exceed twenty square feet in area.

§ 4.75.030. Compliance with state law.

Any sign required by this chapter shall meet the requirements of California Business and Professions Code Section 13530 et seq.

§ 4.75.040. Relation to zoning ordinances.

The provisions of this chapter shall supersede the provisions of Chapter 21, Fountain Valley Municipal Code (Zoning); except, that this chapter shall not be construed to require or authorize signs which would not be permitted by the applicable zoning regulations where it is possible to comply with the requirements of this chapter and the applicable zoning regulations; excepting further, that applications for conditional use permits shall not be required solely to conform to the requirements of this chapter.
