§ 2.2.801. Purpose and authority.

Areas exist in the City which are characterized by one or more of the conditions set forth in Sections 33031 through 33034 of the Health and Safety Code of the State, and these areas constitute physical, social, and economic liabilities to the City and require redevelopment. It is in the interests of the health, safety, and general welfare of the people of the City and the State to form an agency pursuant to Part I of Division 24 of the Health and Safety Code of the State.
