VENTURA COUNTY SHERIFF — CIVIL FAQ. Effective January 1, 2026, the Civil Unit accepts electronic service requests and payments; printing for service costs $1.25 per page under Government Code §26727. The FAQ says the Sheriff cannot guarantee if or when process will be served, and most process has legal service limits. The Sheriff's office can explain its civil-process procedures and policies but cannot give legal advice. Most requests can be submitted online through the e-Services Portal. For bank levy and third-party levy claims of exemption, the FAQ directs filers to deliver the original claim to the levying officer (Sheriff), by mail or in person, at Ventura County Sheriff Civil Unit, 800 S. Victoria Ave., HOJ Room 101, Ventura, CA 93009. It links Judicial Council forms EJ-160 (Claim of Exemption) and EJ-165 (Financial Statement).
