FILED, AUG 05 2024 SUPERIOR COURT OF CALIFORNIA py Bar) COUNTY OF EL DORADO Deputy la 495 Main Street Placerville, CA 95667 DATE: August 5, 2024 JUDGE: Vicki Ashworth, Presiding Judge STANDING ORDER RE: DESTRUCTION OF SUBPOENAED RECORDS Effective August 5, 2024, the Court authorizes the Clerk to unseal envelopes containing subpoenaed records that were not introduced in evidence or required as part of the record for the purposes of retrieving the Affidavit of Custodian of Records to determine whether the records are original documents or copies. The Clerk shall retrieve the Affidavit only and will not review the records themselves. After retrieving the Affidavit, the Clerk shall reseal the envelope. Pursuant to Evidence Code 1560(d), records determined to be original documents shall be returned to the person or entity from whom received, and records determined to be copies shall be destroyed. This order does not apply to cases pending a final decision on appeal, cases involving murder, cases eligible for the death penalty, or cases in which a life sentence has been imposed.
