Re | GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. | /- O23 FILED JAN 17 2017, wi the Sum oh GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER OF THE LTE su CALAVERAS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT UPDATING REASONABLE COURT APPOINTED CRIMINAL DEFENSE INVESTIGATOR COMPENSATION WHEREAS, pursuant to California Penal Code § 987 et. seq. the Court must set reasonable compensation for necessary expenses incurred by court appointed counsel who are representing certain indigent defendants; and WHEREAS, Local Rules of Court for Calaveras County Superior Court, Rule 5.8 establishes a procedure for court appointed counsel seeking reimbursement for court authorized investigative costs; and WHEREAS, Local Rule 5.8 further provides that a court approved investigator fee rate shall be established by general administrative order of the Presiding Judge of the Calaveras County Superior Court; and ; WHEREAS, the compensation for court approved investigators has not been updated or increased since 2007. WHEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, effective January 2, 2017, General , Administrative Order No. 07-03 is amended to set the court approved investigator fee rate for services provided shall be at the rate of $65.00 per hour (including telephone calls) plus mileage for actual travel in the performance of services at the same rate per mile as is approved for county employees, SO ORDERED.
