Mission Statement

The mission of the Lake County Civil Division is to serve all civil processes in an efficient and timely manner, while providing a fair and impartial position between all involved parties.

Status Requests

The Sheriff's Office does not provide rush services. If you have a restrictive timeframe, you may consider calling a process server.

The Civil Division strongly encourages you to wait for your service to process. We do not answer service questions over the phone. After service is complete, you will receive a proof of service mailed to you.

The Sheriff's Office is entitled to fees whether or not the service is completed. We cannot guarantee that our service will always be successful (CA Govt. Code § 26736 & 26738). All fees will be paid prior to performing any service (CA Govt. Code § 6103.2).

Legal Advice

The Sheriff's Office cannot give legal advice. If you have legal questions or need help completing legal documents, please refer to the California Court website, contact an attorney, or the Family Law Facilitator's Office.
