UNITED STATES BANKRUPTCY COURT 1 NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 2 3 4 5 In re: General Order 45 6 DISCONTINUATION OF MORTGAGE Dated: May 7, 2025 7 MODIFICATION MEDIATION PROGRAM; and 8 ABROGATION OF GENERAL ORDER 29. 9 10 11 Pursuant to General Order 29 on August 1, 2015, this Court adopted and implemented 12 the Mortgage Modification Mediation Program (MMM Program) to provide lenders and 13 Chapter 13 debtors a means to negotiate mortgage modifications. 14 The MMM Program complemented the then existing Home Affordable Modification 15 Program (initially HAMP I, and later termed HAMP II) operated by the United States Treasury, 16 which required lenders insured by government programs to participate in the HAMP programs. 17 The HAMP programs terminated in 2017. Since that time lenders have established and operate their own mortgage modification programs, and use of the MMM Program has declined.18 19 Accordingly, effective May 16, 2025: 20 • Parties participating in the MMM Program as of May 16, 2025 may continue to 21 use the MMM Program, 22 • The MMM Program is for all other purposes discontinued, and 23 • General Order 29 is hereby abrogated. 24 IT IS SO ORDERED. 25 Dated: May 7, 2025 26 27 Stephen L. Johnson 28 Chief Bankruptcy Judge
