5 ORDER TEMPORARILY ASSIGNING NEW ) CASES FROM STANISLAUS, TUOLUMNE, AND ) 6 CALAVERAS COUNTIESTO FRESNO DIVISION ) AS OF JANUARY 2, 2026 ) General Order 25-1 7 )
8 WHEREAS, upon the retirement of the Honorable Fredrick E. Clement in March 2026, 9
10 the Sacramento Division of the Eastern District of California Bankruptcy Court will have one
11 active bankruptcy judge and one recalled bankruptcy judge, with the appointment of two new
12 bankruptcy judges pending. Therefore, good cause appearing:
13 IT IS ORDERED that new cases and adversary proceedings filed in the United States
14 Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California from Stanislaus, Tuolumne, and 15 Calaveras counties on or after January 2, 2026, will be assigned to the Fresno Division. 16 IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that these cases and adversary proceedings will remain in 17 the Fresno Division for their entire lifespan. 18 IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that assignment of cases and adversary proceedings from 19 Stanislaus, Tuolumne, and Calaveras counties will resume as prescribed in Local Bankruptcy20
21 Rule 1002-1 after bankruptcy judges appointed to fill the two vacancies in the Sacramento
22 Division of the Eastern District of California Bankruptcy Court are sworn in as active bankruptcy
23 judges.
