ENDORSED FILED SAN MATEO COUNTY OCT 25 2018 tui Court omens ——“BEPURY CLERK IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO SUPERIOR COURT OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF SAN MATEO ) ) ) ) ) ) IT IS HEREBY ORDERED as follows: STANDING ORDER 18-148 Standing Order Regarding Automatic Complex Case Designation and Automatic Single Assignment to the Complex Civil Judge for All Civil Actions Filed as a Class Action Recognizing that class actions are defined as provisionally complex pursuant to California Rules of Court, Rule 3.400(c)(6), considering the factors which make a case complex enumerated in CRC Rule 3.400(b), and consistent with the policy to determine as soon as reasonably practicable whether a case is complex under CRC Rule 3.403, all civil cases designated as a “class action” on the Civil Case Cover Sheet (form CM-010) or on the caption of the complaint as required by CRC Rule 3.761(a) are presumed to be complex, shall be automatically deemed “complex”, and shall be automatically assigned to the Court’s Complex Civil Litigation Judge for all purposes. Pursuant to Government Code Section 70616(a), the complex case fee and the first appearance fee must be paid at the time of the filing of the first paper in a class action proceeding.
