GROUNDBREAKING FOR NEW HALL OF JUSTICE IN SONOMA COUNTY
Building will address overcrowding, security, and accessibility issues while improving efficiency by consolidating services at one location
What: A ceremony to celebrate the official groundbreaking on the new Hall of Justice in Sonoma County. NOTE: The ceremony is by invitation only and not open to the public. However, the court invites media to attend.
Who: The ceremony will include remarks by Presiding Judge Brad DeMeo; Judge Gary Nadler; Senator Mike McGuire; Congressman Mike Thompson; Jagan Singh, Principal Manager, Judicial Council Facilities Services; and Michael Palladino, Design Partner, Richard Meier & Partners Architects LLP
When: July 9, 2021, 12:00 p.m.
Where: The ceremony will take place at 2685 Ventura Ave., in Santa Rosa, at the corner of Administration Drive and Ventura Avenue, adjacent to the public parking lot.
Why: The new building will address overcrowding, security, and accessibility issues at its current facilities by consolidating court services in a modern and efficient building for residents of Sonoma County. The new courthouse will also provide modern spaces for jury assembly and deliberation, in- custody holding, attorney interview/witness waiting rooms, and a children's waiting room.
