SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE COUNTY OF DEL NORTE Standing Order 24-004 RE: California Rule of Court 10.635 This Standing Order is designed to promote equitable access while addressing operational constraints and the benefits of remote technology. Pursuant to C.R.C. 10.635(e)(2), the following orders are made effective immediately. Good cause exists to allow remote appearances by both assigned judicial officers and appointed subordinate judicial officers. Remote participation ensures the continued availability of qualified judicial officers to preside over matters without unnecessary delays due to travel or weather-related challenges and fiscal constraints. Remote appearances are specifically authorized to prevent significant delays that would substantially prejudice litigants if non-local judicial officers were required to appear in-person. This Order is to ensure the timely access to justice for litigants and the removal of potential barriers litigants may experience if qualified judicial officers are not made available via remote technology. DATED: N-2)=24 HON. DARREN McELFRESH Presiding Judge
