COMPLEX CIVIL DEPARTMENTS REVISED GUIDELINES

The Superior Court of California, County of Orange recently revised its Guidelines for all Complex Civil Departments. The Guidelines provide important procedural information. Counsel’s familiarity with the Guidelines is expected. The Court established the Guidelines to improve the administration of justice and to provide a more orderly framework for the pre-trial phase of litigation. The Complex Civil Department Guidelines are available on the Court’s Web site at www.occourts.org/directory/civil/complex-civil/department-guidelines.pdf. The six page document covers many areas which include Initial Case Management Conference, Law and Motion, Mandatory Settlement Conference, and Use of the Court’s Evidence Presentation System.
