UNITED STATES BANKRUPTCY COURT 1 NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 2 3 4 In re ASSIGNMENT OF BANKRUPTCY CASES; 5 and General Order 47 6 ABROGATION OF FIRST AMENDED Effective: April 15, 2026 7 GENERAL ORDER 33, GENERAL ORDER 8 46, and PARTIAL ABROGATION OF ORDER FOR REASSIGNMENT OF CASES 9 IN THE SAN JOSE DIVISION DATED 10 JULY 1, 2015. 11 This Order sets forth the assignment of bankruptcy cases filed in the United States12 Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.1 Considering the anticipated May 15, 13 2026, retirement of Judge Charles Novack, the court will adjust its assignment of cases, effective 14 April 15, 2026, and until further order of the Court: 15 1) Subject to the exception stated in paragraph 2 of this Order, all bankruptcy cases filed16 and venued in the San Francisco Division, Santa Rosa Division or the Oakland Division shall17 receive a case number applicable to each Division and be randomly assigned to Judge Hannah L. 18 Blumenstiel, Judge William J. Lafferty or Judge Dennis Montali. 19 20 2) Bankruptcy cases filed in the Santa Rosa Division and venued in Del Norte County or Humboldt County, shall receive a Santa Rosa Division case number and be assigned to Judge21 William J. Lafferty.22 23 3) Subject to the exception stated in paragraph 4 of this Order, all bankruptcy cases filed 24 and venued in the San Jose Division shall receive a San Jose Division case number and be 25 assigned to Judge Stephen L. Johnson. 26 27 1 The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California consists of 15 counties subdivided into four geographic divisions designated as San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Oakland and San Jose. B.L.R. 1001-3. Venue 28 is determined as consistent with 28 U.S.C. §1408 and §1410.

- Bankruptcy cases filed under Chapter 13 of the Bankruptcy Code 2 in the San Jose 1 Division and venued in Monterey County or San Benito County (aka “Salinas”), shall receive a 2 San Jose Division case number and be assigned to Judge Hannah L. Blumenstiel. 3 4 5) First Amended General Order 33, General Order 46, and paragraph 2, second sentence, of the order Reassignment of Cases in the San Jose Division (dated July 1, 2015) are hereby 5 superseded and modified by this General Order 47. 6 7 6) The Clerk of Court shall institute such procedures as may be necessary to effectuate these
