§ 15.28.010. Permit required.

No building or structure for which a building permit would otherwise be required for its initial construction pursuant to the provisions of this code shall be moved from without the city to a location within the city, or from any location within the city to another location within the city without first obtaining a permit (hereafter "relocation permit") therefor, in the manner hereafter specified.

§ 15.28.020. Permit application.

The building official shall prepare appropriate application forms for such relocation permits and shall make the same available to members of the public. Such application forms shall be filed with the building official and include the following information:

A. Name, address and telephone number of the owner of the building proposed to be moved, removed or relocated; and

B. The name, address and telephone number of the contractor who will be in charge of and responsible for the moving, removal or relocation of the building, and such person's State Contractor's License Number; and

C. The street address and legal description of the property from which the building is to be moved, if such location is in the city, and the street address and legal description of the property to which building is to be relocated; and

D. A plot plan showing the proposed new location of the building on the lot; and

E. A plan of the foundation for the proposed new site; and

F. Structural details of the building to be relocated and any proposed additions thereto; and

G. Exterior elevations showing the final finished proposed relocated structure; and

H. A photograph of the building proposed to be relocated; and

I. Any further information as may be deemed essential by the building official.

§ 15.28.030. Fees.

A filing and processing fee in the sum of $100 for each building or structure proposed for relocation shall be paid contemporaneously with the filing of such application, no part of which shall be refundable.

§ 15.28.040. Investigation.

After application for relocation permit is filed, together with a filing and processing fee, the building official shall cause an investigation to be conducted in order to recommend to the city council whether the permit should be issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.

§ 15.28.050. Permit issuance.

If, after an informal notice of hearing, the city council determines that the building or structure as proposed to be relocated will be in accordance with all provisions of this code, including but not limited to the city's building and zoning regulations, it shall issue the permit. The city council may condition the issuance thereof, so as to ensure that such compliance is had with all applicable laws. The council shall designate a route to be utilized for conveying the building or structure to its proposed new location.

§ 15.28.060. Bonding requirements.

Before any permit to move or relocate any building shall be issued, the applicant shall deposit with the city a security deposit in an amount to be determined necessary by the city council to assure compliance with the provisions of this chapter.

§ 15.28.070. Notice of decision.

The building official shall give written notice of the city council's decision in approving, conditionally approving, or denying an application for relocation permit to the applicant and any other person requesting such notice. The decision of the city council with reference to such permit shall be final and conclusive.

§ 15.28.080. Relocation of certain buildings prohibited.

No person shall relocate on any real property within the city any building or structure which is in excess of 20 years of age, and no relocation permit shall be issued for any such building or structure.

§ 15.28.090. Building permit also required.

In addition to the permit required by this chapter, a building permit shall be obtained pursuant to and compliance shall be had with, the provisions of Chapter 15.04 of this code.
